I love Fox News more and more each day.  I mean... the sexism and racism that is rampant on that show just can NOT be paralleled on any other news agency.  There is a reason why people call them a "news" channel.

Here is one of them.

I have heard recently from some people on the more privileged end of the spectrum who are saying "racism is dead" or "racism isn't a problem anymore".   Well...... when white guys are saying that the meltdown that this country is facing is because non-white people took out loans....   uhm..... yeah... what do you call that?

I discovered The Cho Show a couple of weeks ago and have been DVRing the whole series. Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of Margaret Cho's standup. I think she's clever and awesome... but her standup doesn't make me laugh. To each his own, right? She's got plenty of people who she does make laugh so I know she couldn't give a shit if I, personally, laugh or not. Her show makes me laugh though. Weird. ANYWAY! Margaret Cho is wonderful is basically what I'm getting at.

One of the things that makes her wonderful is that she doesn't like Sarah Palin. At all. Even called her "evil". I think that's a pretty good description for someone who made rape victims pay for their own rape kits while she was Mayor of Wasilla (something so fucking horrendous that a law was put in place by the state of Alaska to make sure no one was ever able to do that again) - I would put up links but I am lazy and seriously, this blog isn't popular enough for it to be a 'first-stop' for anyone so YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS ALREADY - . Well, it looks like some of Cho's fellow X-tians weren't too happy about her "Palin bashing" (i.e. legitimately pointing out things wrong with Sarah Palin).

Jesus commanded his followers to “love their neighbor as they love themselves” - without judgment, without malice, without hatred. The venom that Margaret Cho has for Sarah Palin is unfair and outrageous! I think it is fine to disagree with someone on practically all issues - but the whole argument is weakened (as is her own character) when she resorts to calling them “evil”! How very un-Christlike her behavior is!

Obama recently said that everyone should basically back off of the story that Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol, is pregnant, underage, and unwed because "family is off-limits". At first I agreed. Whole-heartedly. And actually part of me still does agree kinda. But, I've been reading a lot of opinions coming from the other side lately and I think that I also agree with them.

Sarah Palin is extremely "pro-life". She believes in abstinence-only "education" as well. One could almost say that she is the perfect example of what a pro-life advocate would be. And I couldn't agree more! The woman is 40+ years old with a newborn baby with Down's Syndrome (they teach you in school that your risk of having a baby with problems increases after you turn 35 and gets worse as time goes on) and her underage daughter is pregnant and not on any kind of birth control (perhaps if she had been taught something more than abstinence-only she would have been able to protect herself from pregnancy via condoms or birth control). Now her daughter, aged 17, is going to get married to her 17 year-old baby daddy... .... and live happily ever after!!! Just like most shotgun weddings end up! And her mom is going to stand on stage and tell everyone that Bristol "chose" to keep her baby (and get married). Okay.

So the reason why people are up-in-arms about this story and the fact that this girl is another statistic for the United States census.... is because this woman claims "choice" for her daughter and, in a heartbeat, would take away that choice for anyone else. This is a "personal family matter" in the case of Sarah Palin... but for you and me and everyone else? Nope. This is a government issue with laws and reforms that will be passed to make sure that your business is not your own and you have no choice because the government chooses for you.

So I suppose now I stand with everyone else who says "Fuck you and your 'personal family matter', Sarah Palin. Cuz you definitely wanna fuck me."

I'll start this off by saying that I definitely didn't watch Palin's speech last night. Why? Because I have no interest in what the current Republican party has to say. I already know what they have to say. I DEFINITELY know what Palin is going to say (despite not knowing who the hell she was before they made their announcement last week).... but... I don't think we can say the same for her... because it has been made apparent that the speech she delivered last night that is "oh so inspiring!" to some Republicans as actually written before they even knew WHO they were going to choose as their VP.

Remember when people were all up Obama's ass for apparently using a teleprompter? Well... what the hell?  Where is everyone out there bitching about how Palin's speech was WRITTEN FOR HER (or whoever they chose as VP)?  ... And what the fck do you do to a Vice President acceptance speech to make it "too masculine"? 

Anyway, obviously it wasn't worth my time to watch this pre-written cookie-cutter speech be delivered.  I'm glad I didn't watch it.  I got all I needed to know about the RNC this morning when a CNN reporter said "for the second day in a row they have not mentioned the economy even ONCE."
